Holly Valance marries Nick Candy in a lavish ceremony in Beverly Hills, California
Her dress cost a cool £35,000, the flowers were a snip at £60,000 and the wedding singer – one Katy Perry – charged £1.2 million for her 45 minute appearance.
But when you’re marrying a billionaire property developer you’re allowed to push the boat out on your big day, aren’t you Holly?
Former Neighbours and Strictly Come Dancing star Holly Vallance wed fiance Nick Candy in LA at the weekend in a lavish ceremony said to have set him back £3 million.
But if you think THAT’S a bit pricey for a wedding, check out these other staggeringly expensive and OTT nuptials (and as you’ll see splashing out is no guarantee the marriage will last)......
Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas
£1 million
Guests to the celebrity wedding of 2005 were somewhat confused to receive invitations written in invisible ink and holograms.
But once they’d deciphered the code guests, including Sean Connery, Jack Nicholson, and Michael Caine were directed to New York’s Plaza Hotel for the lavish ceremony.
Fifty security guards manned the doors to stop unapproved photographers getting a snap of the bride in her £85,000 Christian Lacroix gown and £185,000 diamond tiara.
The hotel was decorated with 20,000 cream-coloured roses (almost 1,000 for every one of the 25 year separating the bride and groom’s births!) and a huge 10-tier wedding cake and 20 ft tree decorated with 700 tulips towered over the reception.
Entertainment was provided by a 40-strong Welsh male voice choir, Catherine’s ex Mick Hucknall of Simply Red and Bonnie Tyler.
Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin
£5 million
In 2008 the Manchester United star and his TV presenter fiance started their four day wedding bash by flying 64 guests to the Italian Riviera Italy on private jets for a masked ball on a luxury yacht.
The main ceremony took place at a stunning medieval abbey high above Portofino.
Coleen wore a £130,000 Marchesa dress (having spent £85,000 going to New York for dress fittings) and paid £400,000 for her favourite band Westlife to play.
But at least they are said to have scored £2.5 million from a glossy magazine for their exclusive wedding pictures.
Christina Aguilera and Jason Bratman
£1.2 million
The pop princess married music executive Jason in a truly glittering ceremony in Napa Valley in 2005.
She wore an £18,500 Christian Lacroix gown and carried a diamond rosary priced at £6,000.
Her wedding bouquet even included a diamond rose.
The pair wed beneath a canopy decorated with white roses, silver, and crystals.
Sadly, all the finery in the world couldn’t stop Christina and Jason’s marriage from imploding five years later.
At least that diamond rose will last forever.

Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar
£1.6 million
The actress and model married Indian textiles tycoon Arun in 2007.
A double ceremony over eight days kicked off at 15th century Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire and then moved to the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.
They paid £185,000 for private jets flying all their guests to India and over £60,000 for accommodation, including the £6,000-a-night bridal suite in Jodhpur.
Less than four years later the marriage was over after pictures emerged of Liz kissing cricketer Shane Warne.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
£6 million
Considering the marriage only lasted 72 days Kim’s big day proved a very expensive mistake – unless you believe reports that the couple actually MADE more than £9 million from product endorsements and flogging the wedding snaps.
Kim wore three different Vera Wang dresses at £12,000 a pop during the ridiculously star-studded wedding last August. She was decked out in £6,000 worth of borrowed diamonds including a 65 carat headpiece. And the flowers alone cost £123,000.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
£1.4 million
After Tom proposed to Katie on the top of the Eiffel Tower the couple married at 15th century Odescalchi Castle in Rome in November 2006.
Giorgio Armani designed all the clothes for the bridal party and Andrea Boccelli gave a musical performance.
Unfortunately, so did Tom – his rendition of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” which he sang in Top Gun.
Among the 150 guests were Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham and a lot of Scientologists.
The couple splashed out £110,000 on wine and had a five-tiered white chocolate cake. Despite such a flying start, the couple split earlier this year
